Wilton Connecticut is a beautiful place to live; nestled in the Norwalk River valley Wilton is an easy one-hour's commute from New York City.

Wilton can best be characterized as a most pleasant rustic and rural residential community. Connecticut Magazine named it the number one town in its size category for two years. Even though it is just a one hour train ride from Grand Central Station in New York City, beautiful historic architecture intermingled with traditional and contemporary homes help maintain the Wilton's countrified atmosphere. The picturesque Town Green in the center of town gives it a distinctively New England charm.

Just outside of town on Danbury Road is The Wilton Heritage Museum, a classic 1750s center-chimney house decorated with period furnishings and costumes. The town's first railroad station (1852) sits at the historic Cannondale Crossing next to an 1880s general store, post office and a Greek Revival one-room schoolhouse.

The Woodcock Nature Center is a 146-acre sanctuary with self-guided hiking trails, a nature store and exhibits. Another mile or so up the road is the state's only national park, the 153-acre Weir Farm National Historic Site.
