Oxford , Connecticut , with its wooded landscape and pastoral charm, is a beautiful place to call home. In the Quaker Farms section of town many of the original homesteads and farms have been preserved. With a number of lakes and parks, recreational opportunities in Oxford are endless. There are both public and parochial schools in Oxford ; the public high school offers both college preparatory and technical training curriculum. The housing market has mostly updated single family homes and farmhouses, but there is ample opportunity for new construction.

Enchanting farmland, sweeping meadows and a rich Colonial history make Oxford one of the nicest places in Connecticut for peaceful family living. Residential areas are populated primarily by older, refurbished homes and farmhouses in traditional New England styles. The stately Town Green is a throwback to earlier times and the town's historic Quaker Farms area still has some of its' original 18th and 19th century homes and farmsteads. Unlike the more heavily populated cities on the coast, Oxford still has some prime land available for new construction.

Due to intelligent zoning, the charming country neighborhoods of Oxford are situated comfortably separate from the commercial zones. Light industry offers employment opportunities and there is ample opportunity for increased development. Route 34, 188, 67 and Interstate 84 make the town attractive for business and provide excellent traveling for work, shopping and entertainment.

Both indoor and outdoor recreation opportunities are plentiful with a number of charming lakes and parks. Housatonic Beach, Lake Zoar, Jackson Cove Park and Kettletown State Park all offer superior hiking and water sport activities. Plus, there are a variety of well-maintained tennis courts and ball fields.

The school system is well established offering both college preparatory and vocational training programs. Two parochial schools offer students a private elementary and middle school education.
