Meet James E. McKenna III, C.P.A., C.M.P.S.

James E. McKenna I am a Certified Public Accountant and have over 10 years experience in mortgage banking, and recently earned the Certified Mortgage Planning Specialist (CMPS) Designation granted by the CMPS Institute, Ann Arbor, Michigan.  As a Certified Mortgage Planning Specialist I understand that mortgage financing is probably the largest transaction that clients will make in their lifetime.  This financing is typically a large piece of a client’s overall financial strategy.

Understanding this, I work with clients to find loan products that are consistent with, and complimentary to, their overall financial plan.  I identify appropriate mortgage products, study the overall financial plan, go over the client’s tolerance for risk and assess current and future plans.  Clients are full partners in understanding and choosing the mortgage product that best fits their situation.  I pride myself in educating my clients on not just the mortgage products, but on every aspect of the transaction process.

I hold a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Finance from Sacred Heart University.   I am licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in the states of Connecticut and New York.  Prior to entering the mortgage business, I was employed as a Certified Public Accountant with a national public accounting firm located in Manhattan.  My specialty included extensive tax and audit work, with an emphasis on small and closely held companies along with personal financial planning.  I later joined a national prestigious law firm also located in Manhattan.  While at the law firm, I was responsible for the financial reporting and the tax compliance for the firm’s international offices.

My Mission Statement
Merely meeting expectations is not enough.  My mission is to exceed the expectations of not only my clients, but of everyone involved in the transaction.  My mission is to create clients who will become “Raving Fans”.  I do this by carefully guiding clients through the mortgage application process.  I will communicate with them and other professionals involved with the decision making in an effectively and timely manner.  Most importantly, I provide them with solid professional advice.  My clients only think about home financing a few times during their lives – I think about it every single day.  It’s their home and their future.  It is my profession and my passion.  I am committed to continuous improvement of my systems, my service delivery and my knowledge base.  I am always prepared to work for the best interests of my clients.
