The slowdown in Darien real estate continued into March with 16 sold homes, eleven less than the 27 homes that sold in March of 2007. The average market time of sold homes in Darien increased to 151 days from last March's average of 87 days. Well priced homes continue to sell in a reasonable amount of time. Determining the "right price" is more challenging for homeowners and brokers alike because of the lack of buyer activity. It seems clear, however, that Darien home prices still need to come down to help get the market moving again.

Darien buyer activity has picked up from last month as to be expected and there is a nice inventory of homes at all price points. In today’s Darien real estate market there are some phenomenal opportunities, if people know where to look. Home prices are still "all over the place" and to find a good value it is important to research home choices carefully.
